Key Business Tax Deadlines for November 2025

November can be a whirlwind for businesses, as year-end tasks collide with holiday preparations. It's crucial for businesses to keep an eye on upcoming tax deadlines to ensure compliance and avoid penalties. This month, Form 941 and essential tax deposits are due, among other important dates.

November 10 - Quarterly Payroll Tax Filing

Ensure Form 941, which covers Social Security, Medicare, and withheld income taxes for the third quarter of 2025, is filed by this date—assuming all required deposits were made timely for the quarter. This is key for maintaining your IRS compliance status and avoiding late fees.

November 17 - Monthly Deposit Due

For employers subject to the monthly deposit rule, ensure deposits for Social Security, Medicare, and withheld taxes for October 2025 are completed by November 17. This date also applies to nonpayroll withholding deposits if you follow the monthly deposit schedule.

Weekends & Holidays:

It's important to remember if a deadline falls on a weekend or legal holiday, it's automatically extended to the next business day, allowing some breathing room in tight schedules.

Extensions for Disaster Areas:

In the event of a federally declared disaster affecting your geographical area, you may be eligible for filing extensions. Businesses should check for updated information regarding disaster areas and adjusted deadlines via the following resources:

FEMA: FEMA Disaster Declarations
IRS: IRS Tax Relief in Disaster Situations
